I love Rockstar Games. More precisely, I love their open-worlds. GTA has that satire feel to it, with cartoonish characters, absurd stories, and crazy gameplay sequences. Red Dead Redemption got on to me because even though still had some of that witty writing, its themes are way soberer and it was so different from what made GTA one of my favorite franchises, while still maintaining that attention to detail and quality that only Rockstar can achieve on a sandbox game.

Red Dead Redemption was the best game I've ever played. That game changed my gaming taste. I never cared that much about immersion and stories in games till I played RDR. I've been waiting for RDR2 since then.

The first one was great and certainly one of the best open world games out there. They've been working on it a while, so hopefully its worth the wait.

First true current-gen Rockstar game and the sequel to one of the GOATs. Hype is through the roof.

I myself have never played a previous entry to this series, but the game looks absolutely incredible. The Norse mythological setting is intriguing, hopefully the father-son dynamic will strike a chord, and the combat looks brutal. I am anticipating a heck of a spectacle from start to finish.

I'm a fan of the series and have played every entry. I feel something will have to go horribly wrong for me not to end up enjoying this entry in the series. It's Kratos and Norse mythology. I can't see Sony Santa Monica messing this up.

Norse mythology and the new approach made me curious. It also seems to be a journey through a diverse landscape. I want it now!

What I would pay to play as a reformed renegade bandit whose past catches up to them? $60.

Insomniac is one of my favorite developers. With support from Marvel/Disney and Sony, they are making what will more than likely be a high quality game involving the Spider-Man IP. It doesn't take much else to get me hyped for this. I am really happy that Insomniac is being given a big budget to develop a game. They deserve it.

Even in the face of Arkham Asylum, I contend that Spider-Man 2 is the most evocative, licensed super hero game ever made. Few games have encapsulated the incredible freedom of Spider-Man since 2004, but I believe we're finally due in 2018.

I've been waiting for good Marvel video game for a while and Spiderman seems like the game I've been waiting for.

For years people wondered if Monster Hunter would ever be able to truly break through in the West and it looks like with Monster Hunter World the series has the best shot its ever had. A game that utilizes the new power of the systems its on to accentuate the best part of the series, the monsters themselves, to make hunting with your friends look more dynamic and fun than ever before.

After putting hours into the beta, Monster Hunter: World has been cemented as my most anticipated game of 2018. The much-needed quality of life changes, organic ecosystem, visual upgrades, and miscellaneous refinements elevate the franchise to heights I could only dream of, with cramped hands gripping at a 3DS.

I've been slowly working my way through the Kingdom Hearts games since picking up HD 1.5+2.5 earlier in the year, and I am slowly falling in love with the series. The beautifully designed worlds and confusing yet awesome story have really drawn me in, and the chance to finally experience the next mainline chapter in this crazy story is incredibly exciting.

I have finished high school, started and finished college, got married, bought a house, and am 6 months from my 10 year HS reunion since KHII. Words can't properly express my excitement and hope for this game. Not even to mention adding Tangled and Big Hero Six worlds.

One of my favorite franchises of all time and the sequel I have been waiting for ages. I just love Kingdom Hearts series and this has been my most anticipated game since the official reveal back in 2013.

You can boil the game down to being an interactive movie with hundreds (thousands?) of branching paths that the player gets to actively be a part of. What's not to love? I haven't played any of QD's previous games yet, though I really want to, so this is going to be a new experience for me. Regardless of that, though, the very concept of adventure games like this, where there's so many choices, is incredibly compelling. While it's not breaking new ground and whatnot, the story and its themes definitely have my interest.

Heavy Rain, despite its shortcomings, was a delight and a breath of fresh air at the time. Since then Telltale and Until Dawn have taken things to greater heights and it is time Quantic Dream returned to the throne.

Big fan of Heavy Rain and from everything I've seen so far, Detroit looks like a significant step up for Quantic Dream. Hell yes.

In my mind one of the most powerful games ever. Hunting down majestic colossi is a procedure. of handling your inner conflicts and Agro is one of the best. Recreated by Bluepoint, you know this game is in good hands.

101 gaming game, now in 4K <3

Dragon Quest is to me one of the most essential definitions of grand, epic adventures in videogames. They boast long journeys, filled with different towns and cultures, great characters and quirky NPCs. DQXI seems to have all of this, along with an even more refined combat system (after Persona 5 i realized i actually miss turn based combat systems) and gorgeous graphics to date. Can't wait to hear the main theme kick in on my PS4 and be completely sucked in for 80~100 hours, and come out as i've live in another world.

Just bought a new couch, and I'm ready to lose myself in a big RPG while in style. Pretty lame reason, but I'm pumped.

The first Ni No Kuni still comes the closest for me to recapturing 16 and 32 bit jrpg magic in high fidelity with modern production values. It also highlighted for me the joy of exploration in an old-school world map. Far less ground to cover than in open world games, but a feeling like you can really get your head around and master the world over the course of your journey. II looks just as full of heart as the first.

"a true JRPG" is what I called the first one and I can hardly wait to play this charming sequel. Had the chance to try the demo at a recent gaming event and I loved it.

It brings me so much joy that Yakuza is finally starting to catch on more in the West and be recognized for being the completely batshit insane fun and dramatic crime drama that it is. It is, perhaps, fitting that in a year marked as something of a resurgence for Japanese games and on a console reaching ridiculously broad audiences we would find the Yakuza's greatest Western success, Yakuza 0. I hope the momentum continues and that the latest sequel in this now sizeable series captures even more players' hearts and critical praise.
