1. Measure the mass of the cart. Record in a table.
2. Set up the apparatus and run the trial as show by Mr. Hirtle or Mr. Thornton.
Record the results.
3. Change ONLY the net force.
This is done by just moving mass from the cart to the
‘hanger’. No new masses added to the system.
4. Repeat the trial and record results.
5. Repeat for a total of 7 trials.
6. Plot an acceleration and net force graph. Include a line of
best fit.
7. Give the equation of the graph.
8. What does your slope represent? Why (Show with
theoretical equation)?
9. Find the percent error.
